EKOVIA inc. is proud to report that we made our debut at IFAT 2026, the world’s leading trade fair for environmental technologies, held at Messe München in Munich, Germany, from May 4 to 7, 2026. We had the honor of presenting our in-house-developed septic tank remote monitoring IoT system, MONIKA-R1, on the international stage, where we met visitors from more than 60 countries.
About IFAT 2026
First held in 1966, IFAT is recognized as the world’s largest trade fair for environmental technologies, covering water and wastewater treatment, waste management, and resource recycling. This year’s edition welcomed more than 3,200 exhibitors from over 60 countries and approximately 135,000 visitors across the four-day event, living up to its reputation as one of Europe’s most important professional exhibitions.

MONIKA-R1’s First Exhibition
At our booth (Hall C3, Stand 140), we demonstrated MONIKA-R1, the industry’s first IoT system using a gyro-sensor approach to remotely monitor the operation of septic tank blowers and disinfectant levels around the clock. By detecting irregularities that occur between scheduled inspections in real time, MONIKA-R1 represents a next-generation solution that maintains water quality while dramatically improving the efficiency of maintenance operations.
Our booth, decorated with our three mascot characters — Ramoni, Yurara, and Jonosuke — drew the attention of many visitors and helped us communicate the human warmth behind our technology.

Connections with Visitors from Around the World
We were honored to welcome visitors from Europe, Asia, Africa, and both Americas, each sharing valuable perspectives on the state of decentralized wastewater treatment and water-environment challenges in their countries. Several visitors told us that MONIKA-R1 was “exactly what we need at home,” which gave us tremendous encouragement as a first-time exhibitor stepping onto the world stage. Every conversation became a meaningful clue for our future international development.

Looking Ahead
The valuable feedback we gathered at IFAT 2026 will be carefully incorporated into our ongoing product development and service improvements. We will also be moving forward concretely with building international partnerships. To everyone who expressed interest in MONIKA-R1, please expect detailed materials from us in the coming weeks.
EKOVIA remains committed to our founding belief: “Technology born from the field, protecting water environments around the world.” We invite you to follow our journey as we take the next steps forward.
